When
hiring a lawyer, it is important to find one who understands your needs.
Crossland & Associates has represented a wide variety of business
and individual clients, making it likely that we have a head start on
understanding the needs of each client that follows. Even though
every client is unique and we will always take the time to understand
their specific problems and requirements, our experience with a broad
range of clients makes it easier to focus on precisely what makes each
one distinctive. This approach, coupled with our uncommon commitment
to service, quality and integrity, has resulted in valued long-term
client relationships.  Here is a sampling of clients we represent:

We represent individuals of all ages and backgrounds.  In describing
our individual clients, it therefore makes sense to look at the types
of legal needs with which we have helped them rather than in terms of
defining characteristics.  Many people are surprised to learn that most
of the legal work we do for individuals has nothing to do with lawsuits.
However, there are many good reasons that people have sought our legal
advice and services outside the litigation process, including to avoid
litigation in the future.  For example, we have
advised our clients on such diverse non-litigation matters as estate
planning; creating trusts; buying and selling real estate; probating
an estate; entering into contracts covering such matters as product
purchases and personal services; changing a legal name; and negotiating
an easement to use a neighbor's land.  Unfortunately, individuals do
sometimes need legal advice and services on disputed matters, which
may require extensive negotiations or even litigation to resolve.  We
represent people in those matters as well.  Many times we can achieve
fair, reasonable settlements on our clients’ behalf without the
necessity of going to court.  However, if circumstances are such that
settling the dispute is not the best option, we are equally able to
represent our clients in a court of law.  We have successfully represented
people resolving many different types of disputes.  Examples include
breach of contract; landlord/tenant actions; disputes between business
partners; claims against a vendor who sold a product that did not work
as promised; fraud actions; libel and slander; and property disputes
between neighbors.  To find out about other legal services that Crossland
& Associates can provide to individuals, please see the Areas of Practice section of our website.
